What did two disciples desire and look for that they abandoned their old master John the Baptist to follow Jesus; when they heard John introduce Jesus as “Lamb of God”?
What did two disciples look for that John Baptist could not satisfy?
Some people can be encountered, and the impression is so strong that they cannot be forgotten, even the first time or once.
These two disciples remembered encourtering Jesus clearly at this meeting even a long time after: “it was about the tenth hour.” Why? What happened in this meeting?
After this meeting, they talked about Jesus to anyone they encountered. Andrew introduced Peter to Jesus. And Jesus changed Peter’s name of Simon. For Oriental mentality, name represents destiny. To change one’s name is to change her/his destiny.
Philip met Jesus, and he was changed.
Philip met Nathanael, convinced him to see Jesus. Even though Nathanael has a prejudice about Nazareth, he was changed in meeting Jesus.
Jesus will change us if we let the Holy Spirit do what He wants.
